COVID-19 Impact Book

ACWS is the provincial network organization of women’s shelters in Alberta. ACWS supports 40 members operating over 50 shelters across the province for women, children, and seniors facing domestic abuse.

Project:

COVID-19 Impact Book

Details:

This book highlights the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on domestic abuse survivors and the shelters and staff that support them. The theme of shelters keeping their doors oven throughout the pandemic was visualized through an open door on the cover and minimal illustrations throughout. Soft watercolour textures in the brand purple were contrasted with yellow and oranges to give hope, warmth and a human element to content that is filled with data and technical information. Showcasing survivor and staff quotes furthers this human-centred data and these were distinguished with a special treatment and quotation mark signifiers in the margins. QR codes were added to connect this report to the website pages that contained recommendations put forth to address the topics and data discussed.

Deliverables:
